Pronounce Languages also provides online Skype lessons to allow anyone, anywhere to enjoy our lessons. Skype lessons are charged at the same flat rate of £35 per hour; you are of course still entitled to the one hour free trial session. Approximately 30% of our business comes from our online tuition, with students in France, Belgium, Italy, Spain and other parts of the UK.
WILL SKYPE BE AS PRODUCTIVE AS A FACE-TO-FACE LESSON?
Of course! We want to assure you that even if you cannot make a face-to-face lesson, you will still receive the same excellent standard of teaching online. Our tutors are specially trained to get the most out of Skype. Skype provides a very effective classroom environment; student and teacher can still see each other and interact, and the comments box provides the perfect medium to give feedback and corrections without interrupting the flow of the conversation. Notes are also available after the lesson, making it easy to revisit what you have learnt in your lesson.
what if there are connection problems?
There are occasionally glitches with online systems and we wish to reassure you that should there be any connection problems from our side, due to our tutor's computer or internet speed, you will not be charged for this period of time. You are however responsible for ensuring that your microphone, sound equipment and internet is correctly set up.
I'm a complete technophobe...
Don't worry - our tutors are experienced and can guide you through it. Setting up a Skype account is simple and completely free, so there will be no extra cost to you.
what else do I need to know?
You may also need access to an email account in order to receive documents from your tutor for use during the lesson. Payments can be made via PayPal if you are based internationally to avoid extra charges for bank transfers.
